Tampa Catholic point guard Lashawn Harrison, the sharpshooting catalyst in the Crusaders' run to the final four in March, has signed with St. Johns River Community College in Palatka, coach Don Dziagwa announced via e-mail. A St. PetersburgTimes second-team all-Hillsborough County pick and member of the Florida Athletic Coaches Association's Class 3A all-state team as a senior, Harrison led the Crusaders in points (18.0 ppg), assists (3.3) and steals (3.0) last season. He shot 50 percent from 3-point range (9-for-18) in three playoff games before struggling the state semifinals, an 83-48 loss to Orlando Jones.

Panthers OT lands Tulane offer
Plant junior Nathan Shienle, a two-year starter at offensive tackle for the Panthers, has received his first scholarship offer. The 6-foot-5, 295-pound Shienle received an offer from Tulane. Shienle, who has predominately played left tackle, was a key part of an offensive line that helped the Panthers to the Class 5A state title in 2009 and reached the state championship in 2010. He also owns an unweighted 4.0 grade point average and scored a 1340 in the two sections of the SAT.
