City facilities may become tobacco-free for Largo workers

LARGO City Commissioners will consider a smoking ban for all Largo employees at Tuesday's city meeting. If the proposed resolution is approved, no city workers would be able to smoke on city property. In fact, workers would not be able to smoke during work at all, except on their lunch breaks. The resolution also offers a hiring preference to nonsmokers. City Manager Mac Craig is recommending that the hiring preference take effect on July 1 and that the smoking ban for city workers take effect next March.
