My Outfit Monday: The no-brainer dress

The way I see it, there are two options on a cranky Monday: Go back to bed, or embrace it. And that means dressing up just a touch, in the easiest way possible -- a rayon dress. No ironing required. No fussing with a belt, or a strap or even Spanx.

I scored this dress at one of my favorite sales - an earlier edition of last week's sale on top of a sale at Dillard's. It's by Max and Cleo and set me back less than $30. I bought it for the rehearsal dinner at my brother's wedding. To make it work appropriate, I covered the low neckline with a bra/short camisole.

The pewter thongs are Kelly and Katie, $25 at DSW. I bought them last spring and wear with everything. The necklace is my creation, designed with Swarovski pearls when I was in a crafty phase. And in the spirit of the royal wedding, I have the ultimate accessory -- the queen's dog, a corgi (or in my case, corgi-something) named Roxy.

Happy Monday!
