Florida lawmakers have agreed to reduce per-student funding by $542, putting the state below 2006-07 levels.
The total $8.7 billion in state and federal revenue for education would be $1.1 billion below the amount set for 2010-11. That's despite an anticipated enrollment increase statewide.
Local funding, meanwhile, is also expected to shrink due to decreasing property values.
How much less state money will the Tampa-area districts get? $12 million for Hernando, $100 million for Hillsborough, $38.5 million for Pasco and $66 million for Pinellas.
