Lions' McPhillips to play golf at St. Andrews (no, really)

King boys golf standout Hunter McPhillips will receive money to play golf the next four years at St. Andrews.

Okay, not that St. Andrews, but a well-respected one nonetheless.

McPhillips, who led the Lions to the Class 2A, District 10 title as a senior, signed earlier today with St. Andrews Presbyterian College, a Division II program in Laurinburg, N.C.

McPhillips appeared to peak in the '10 postseason. After breaking 80 at Temple Terrace to help the Lions earn a district crown, he placed fourth at the Region 4 tournament, finishing with a 4-over-75 on the lengthy Fox Hollow course in Trinity.
