Lakeland native Booth Jewett plays a style of rootsy, shuffling alt-country that sounds more like Ray LaMontagne, Iron and Wine or The Band than any Christian pop artist. But he knows where his heart lies.
"At 24 yrs old," he writes on his website, "if I've been able to gather anything of significance at all up to this point, it's that my identity in Christ is in itself my identity with the suffering and the marginalized of this world."
On May 12, you can see him at a relatively new joint for singer-songwriters in downtown St. Pete: The Ale and the Witch, a popular new beer bar. The show is free at 8 p.m. Click here for details.
