In honor of Mother's Day - and to offer assistance to those who may have forgotten to get her something special - here are some events happening today with Mom in mind.
Classical concert: At 3 p.m., take family and friends to hear music by Michael Fee and Vincent M. Titara at Good Samaritan Church, 6085 Park Blvd., Pinellas Park.
Fee, a trumpeter and music teacher, is well-known throughout Florida and has been a featured soloist with many orchestras. Titara, who will accompany Fee on the organ and piano, is director of music ministries at Good Samaritan and serves as an official accompanist for Pinellas County Schools. The concert is free, but an offering will be received.
Eckerd College Concert Choir and Eckerd Ringers: Enjoy a freeprogram of spirituals and choral works by composers including Robert Lowry and Franz Joseph Haydn at 3 p.m. 4200 54th Ave. S, St. Petersburg.
Stroll through Sunken Gardens: Celebrate at the gardens from noon until 4:30 p.m. Moms get in free with any paid admission. $8, $6 seniors, $4 children 2-11. 1825 Fourth St. N, St. Petersburg.
Cruise on the Dolphin Queen: Take Mom out for a cruise on Tampa Bay to see the lovable dolphins. Mothers ride free if accompanied by a child. $22 adults, $19 seniors (over 62), $19 military (with ID), $14 children 3-12, free for children under 3. Prices do not include tax.
