Charges reduced against Cody Larson, Erik Murphy

The State Attorney's office has reduced the charges against suspended Florida basketball players Cody Larson and Erik Murphy from felony burglary to misdemeanor criminal trespass stemming from an incident in April when the two allegedly attempted to break into a car in the early morning hours in St. Augustine.

According to the original police report, Larson and Murphy went into Scarlett O'Hara's Bar and Restaurant in St. Augustine around 2 a.m. on April 10 claiming they had lost a wallet. Police said the men tried to get close to an employee who was counting money from the night.

Bouncers then told Larson and Murphy to leave. Moments later, according to the report, they saw the men breaking into a co-worker's car in a parking lot across the street, according to the police report.

The two have agreed to pay restitution in the amount of $240 for damages done to the car.

Charges against men's basketball team manager Joshua Adel have been dropped after it was determined there was not enough evidence to prove he was involved.
