Sunlake goalkeeper David Danahy, who was instrumental in leading the Seahawks to their first playoff appearance, will sign this week with the NAIA's Southeastern University, according to his father. Danahy made several key saves throughout Sunlake's surprising run to the Class 4A region finals. He held Hudson to one goal in a 6-1 region quarterfinal win, and stymied Pasco's high-powered attack to defeat the Pirates in the region semis. Against Celebration in the region finals, Danahy stopped one shot after another through regulation and two overtimes before the Seahawks lost in a penalty-kick shootout. He was selected to the all-Sunshine Athletic Conference first team and was a St. Petersburg Timessecond-team pick after his senior season.
