Clearwater hoops star Hogan makes college choice

Clearwater senior Jon Hogan has signed with the Master's College and will play basketball for the Mustangs.

"They were the ones who were the most interested in me and they have given me a great opportunity with a full scholarship," Hogan said. "The school is amazing and the coaching staff and the players were great when I went on my visit last month."

In his final season at Clearwater, Hogan averaged 20.3 ppg and 9.6 rpg for a Tornadoes team that finished 20-8 and advanced to the Class 5A region semifinals.

Hogan, who scored 935 points in two seasons as a starter with the Tornadoes, was a second-team Times all-Suncoast and a first-team all-Pinellas County selection. Hogan played in the Pinellas County All-Star Game as well as the Florida Athletic Coaches Association Game in Daytona Beach.

The Master's College is an NAIA Division I program located in Santa Clarita, Calif.
