I need a new purse like I need a hole in the head. But I want a new purse.
You see, I've recently become hooked on a bag that straps across my chest, a gift from my BFF, Summer, who brought it back from a trip to Dubai. Yes. Dubai. Summer is one of these people who is in a different country for work every week while I stay home, eat cold pizza in front of the refrigerator and watch bad Jennifer Aniston movies. Our text conversations usually go like this:
Me: Hey, you want to have pink beer and watch Anchorman and deface people in our old yearbook?
Summer: Sorry, I'm in Hong Kong.
Anyway, the bag is to the right. And yes, that is my Yamaha keytar in the corner. Don't be jealous. I haven't used a bag that goes across my chest since college, and I forgot how great they are. It's making my reporting life so much easier, because I can dash into odd situations and meetings with notebooks stowed tightly at my side, rather than wrangling a huge leather back-breaker as it slides off my shoulder in the heat.
But I'm being too rough on the Dubai bag, and the jewels are popping off. I need to give it a break and get something more all-purpose but still fashiony and bold.
Coach has a huge selection of cross-body bags, but NEWSFLASH, I'm cheap. I don't know if it's worth the investment given that I've already almost murdered the Dubai purse. But I know many of your are Coach devotees. And this "Julia" leather swingpack sure is pretty at $138. I'm not sure if it's big enough for all the junk I carry, though. Perhaps a trip to the Ellenton Coach outlet is in order?
I also like this Kenneth Cole Reaction red number from Macy's, priced better at $69. I love the idea of adding a blast of red to outfits, and this looks pretty soft and buttery.
Or do I just go SUPER cheap and get this Forever 21 bag, wear it until it breaks and cries, then replace it? It's only $27.80. I also like that it has a removable strap and a handle in case I'm in a situation where I don't want my chest all mutilated by a strip of leather.
What would you Divas do? Help a sister out.
