TWO ACCUSED IN HOME INVASION ARMED ROBBERY

DUNEDIN

Authorities say a man and woman created a ruse to get into a home Monday afternoon, then robbed a homeowner. According to sheriff's arrest reports, Christina M. Quinn, 34, and Thomas M. Kurish, 32, went to a home in the 500 block of Chicago Avenue. When a woman answered the door, reports said, Quinn pretended to be a Medicare representative to get the woman to let her in. Once inside, she pulled out a handgun, pointed it at the woman and demanded money, jewelry and pain pills, reports say. It's unclear where Kurish was as the incident unfolded, but the reports indicate he and Quinn planned the robbery and went to the home together. The two live at 1020 Michigan Drive W. Both were charged with home invasion robbery.

Mother, son held in drug house case

Pinellas deputies have made a second arrest connected to an alleged drug house on Bayside Boulevard. On Monday, they arrested Aletha B. Howard, 49. On Tuesday, they arrested her son, William J. Howard Jr., 22. Both are charged with operating a drug house at their home at 105 Bayside Blvd. Aletha Howard owns the home, property records say. Deputies say they got numerous complaints from neighbors about suspicious activity there. Deputies searched the home in 2009, seized guns and two ounces of cocaine, and charged William Howard with armed trafficking in cocaine. That case is scheduled to go to trial in August. On Friday, investigators searched the home again and found more cocaine. Deputies tried to pull William Howard over Tuesday afternoon, but he fled at a high speed, driving on the wrong side of the road at times and running stop signs, according to an arrest report. During the pursuit, he threw a loaded Glock .40-caliber handgun from his vehicle, deputies said. He was charged with operating a drug house, armed trafficking in cocaine, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, and resisting arrest.
