Wiregrass Ranch swimming pair to sign today

Wiregrass Ranch is sending two of its premier swimmers off to college.

Rebecca Pindral, a two-time St. Petersburg Times' girls swimmer of the year, will take her talents to the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. Pindral placed sixth in the 100-yard breaststroke at the 2010 state swim meet (Class 2A) with a time of 1:07.09. She also qualified for states in the 200-yard individual medley and placed 17th after touching the wall in 2:14.56.

UMBC is a Division I program located in Baltimore, Md.

Wiregrass Ranch boys swimmer Brandan Leroche will compete next season at The College at Brockport, part of the State University of New York system. Leroche was a member of the Bulls' 200-yard medley relay team that took fifth at the regional swim meet in 1:52.16. He also swam on the Bulls' 400-yard freestyle relay that placed14th at regionals in 3:54.64. Individually, Leroche qualified for regionals in the 100-yard backstroke and came in 11th in a time of 1:01.91.

The College at Brockport is a Division III school.

Both Pindral and Leroche will sign with their respective schools today at Wiregrass Ranch.
