Campers will work on the basics with a focus on fundamentals to improve their baseball IQ.

Pasco High School baseball coach Ricky Giles has devised a summer camp for kids ages 6-14 that will focus on all fundamentals of the game including strategy, individual skills and team concepts. Campers will be divided by age and ability level for group and individual instruction.

"We try to do a lot of basics because most of the kids are playing in Little League," Giles said. "We do a lot of things that Little League coaches don't have time to do. After work on a lot of basics, we try to put it into a team perspective for them and improve their baseball IQ."

The camp will be divided into three separate three-day sessions in June. The cost is $50 for one session, $90 for two and $120 for all three. The price includes camp T-shirt and daily snacks. The camp will be held at Pasco High School's baseball field. For information, contact Ricky Giles at (813) 312-6277 or Joe Neale at (813) 843-6235.
