The scholarship offers for Jesuit rising junior Travis Johnson are pouring in by the half-dozen, literally.
On Friday, Tigers coach James Harrell said USF, Purdue, Connecticut, Indiana, Missouri and North Carolina State all have offered the 6-foot-4 wideout, coming off a dazzling (36 catches, 612 yards, eight TDs) sophomore year. In two varsity seasons, Johnson has 59 receptions for more than 900 yards.
Elsewhere, Harrell said two-way lineman Ike Edwards has picked up offers from Ball State and Bowling Green. Edwards (6-4, 265), who medaled in the shot put and discus at the recent Class 2A state track and field meet, previously was offered by Western Kentucky.
