EAST MANATEE - Admiral Farragut, with 17 returning starters from last year's team that went 9-2, defeated Braden River 7-0 Friday night. AFA totaled 241 rushing yard on 41 carries.

The Blue Jackets scored the game's only points in the second quarter on a 5-yard run by Cortavious Givens, capping a seven-play, 33-yard drive. They got a short field after Braden River was forced to punt from its end zone.

The Blue Jackets held Braden River to 6 yards total offense in the second half after allowing 130 yards in the first half.

Braden River quarterback Steven Ross completed 5 of 17 passes for 86 yards, nearly all of that coming in the first half when he was 5-for-14 for 76 yards. Ryan Fischer caught three passes for 53 yards and Troy Gatling hauled in three for 33 yards.

Braden River managed only 49 rushing yards led by Ross, who had 22 yards on four carries.

Admiral Farragut committed four turnovers, two interceptions and two fumbles.
