For starters: Rays vs. Orioles, Joyce gets treatment for quads, remains in lineup

RHP Andy Sonnanstine (0-0, 2.87) gets his second start of the season today against the Orioles. Rays RF Matt Joyce, the American League's top hitter at .360, is back in the lineup after having to leave Saturday's game because of tightness in his right quadriceps muscle. He also had cramping in both of his legs and was given IV fluids after the game to help his hydration level.

"I've never had anything like that, it was a thing where it was dead legs,'' Joyce said. "I felt like I was running in quick sand and it was hard to squat and get down in a hitting position and stuff. So I just got a lot to treatment, IVs, got re-hydrated and I feel better now.''

Joyce had some problems with dehydration in the Rays previous series at Cleveland. "I think that's what it was. When I got dehydrated in Cleveland, I've been playing catch-up ever since. That's what the trainers seem to think was the big issue.''
