In case one Twitter-centric post in one day wasn't enough for you, Lady Gaga reached the milestone of 10 million followers this weekend. Aw, remember when Ashton Kutcher gunning for 1 million seemed like a lot?
"10MillionMonsters! I'm speechless, we did it! Its an illness how I love you. Leaving London smiling," she tweeted Saturday via @ladygaga. She was several thousand over that mark on Monday, beating out Justin Bieber, who was still languishing at a couple-hundred thousand less than that.
After appearing on America Idol and The Graham Norton Show in the last week, as well as announcing she was single, no doubt drove up Gaga's numbers. This, of course, means nothing to you or me, but it may delay Twitter's ultimate demise by letting the company tout high user numbers in order to high an inability to monetize their business model. Sorry, when did I turn this into Econ 230?
