POLICE SEEK VEHICLE IN FATAL HIT-AND-RUN

TAMPA

An investigation into a hit-and-run crash that killed a pedestrian has narrowed down the year and model of sport utility vehicle authorities are looking for. Police said Sunday they are searching for a 1993 or 1994 black or dark-colored Ford Explorer with chrome trim. The SUV would have damage to the right front, and the right-front turn signal lens is damaged. The SUV struck and killed a man Saturday while he was crossing against the traffic light on 50th Street at Broadway Avenue, police said. Aaron Keith Cordes, 57, was pushing a shopping cart in the crosswalk when he was struck, police said. Anyone with information about the hit-and-run is asked to call police at (813) 231-6130.

Three arrested after car burglary

Police arrested three people on multiple charges and are looking for another following an auto burglary they spotted Sunday. About 8:25 a.m., officers saw a group of men burglarizing a car behind a duplex near N 49th Street and E 26th Avenue, said Lt. Brian Gant. The men ran and police thought one ran into the duplex, but a team searched and found nobody. Police later arrested three: Daniel Garcia, 19, was charged on an arrest warrant with home invasion robbery; Anthony Hance, 21, was charged with auto burglary, grand theft, burglary, resisting an officer without violence and probation violation; and Devin Anis, 20, was charged with grand theft auto, auto burglary and probation violation. A fourth man was detained but later released, Gant said. Investigators were following leads to identify a fifth man.
