This week: Seminole Hard Rock kicks off '40 Days that Rock'

Tampa's only had a Hard Rock Cafe since December. It's only had a Hard Rock Hotel and Casino since 2004.

But that's not stopping the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino from getting in on the 40th anniversary of Hard Rock International. As the Orlando-based chain turns 40, it's bringing a handful of concerts, contests and special events to Tampa's hotel and casino from Wednesday (5/18) through June 26. Among the highlights:

-- Concerts by Seven Mary Three at 10 p.m. May 26 ($20, click here for tickets) and Everclear at 10 p.m. June 23 ($28, click here).

-- On June 26, giveaways including $4,000 cash and a trip for two to London.

-- Food and drink deals at the Hard Rock Cafe, including something called "Special Brownies" and "Surfer on Acid" shots. It doesn't say what they are, but the quotation marks seem to suggest they're probably loaded with illegal drugs.

-- Commemorative pins, key chains, T-shirts, pint glasses and more.

-- And finally, this is taking place outside the 40-day window, but from Aug. 8-12, a special tour trailer featuring some of the absolute best items from the Hard Rock's 70,000-piece memorabilia collection will be parked at the Hard Rock. We don't know yet exactly which items will be included (feel free to speculate based on this cool story), but we do know that the Beatles' Magical Mystery Tour Bus will be on display in Tampa, parked outside the Hard Rock Cafe. It's the largest piece of memorabilia in the Hard Rock's collection.
