Artist of the day: Our Skylight Assembly

Hey, whatever happened to that band Petrograd in Transit? They were pretty good, weren't they?

Turns out they've mostly reformed as Our Skylight Assembly. Former PiT members Brian Steele (guitar), Josh Harrington (keys) and Doug Nelson (bass) regrouped and are putting out energetic, '80s inspired indie pop, along the lines of the Killers or a poppier Yeasayer. Happenstance from their self-titled EP is a synthy burst of energy with a driving heartbeat of a bassline; It's Not wouldn't sound out of place on the Warped Tour.

On Friday, you can see them performing with Friends of Giants and Preston Beebe at New World Brewery in Ybor City. Tickets are $7. Click here for details.
