In a really long new web video, Republican U.S. Senate candidate Mike Haridopolos tries to counter criticism he endured over a rocky first session as president of the Florida Senate.
It includes a rolling list of accomplishments and one disappointment: A bill to compensate a Brevard County, who was wrongly imprisoned for 27 years for a murder he didn't commit. Haridopolos blames last-minute gamesmanship by the House. "That bill didn't pass," a narrator says. "But Mike vowed he'll never give up in the name of decency."
Not mentioned was Haridopolos' failure to get E-Verify in an immigration bill, which has become material for rival Republicans in the primary. Haridopolos' campaign said the legislation passed by the Senate was still far-reaching and tough.
