Aside from collecting scholarship offers, Pasco three-way star Trey Dudley-Giles has been totally inactive this spring.
Dudley-Giles told the Times on Wednesday he has been sidelined all spring with mononucleosis and must abstain from strenuous physical activity another 3-4 weeks.
"I haven't felt tired lately," Dudley-Giles said while watching the Pirates go through special-teams drills Wednesday. "I just can't hit or run or nothing like that."
Dudley-Giles participated in the Pirates' first spring practice, albeit with a sore throat that only worsened. When he couldn't swallow a Gatorade afterward, he said he went to the hospital.
"But you know me, I can't stay off the field," he said. "I try to be out here to support my team."
As a junior, Dudley-Giles totaled nearly 800 yards and had four picks on defense. To this point, he said he has received offers from Rutgers, Florida Atlantic, Eastern Michigan and East Carolina.
