Bruins forward Brad Marchand, on rookie teammate Tyler Seguin:

"He was really the reason we won."

Bruins coach Claude Julien, on giving up five goals:

"I don't think anybody's happy. We want to score goals. There's no doubt there. But the way we've been giving up goals, there's nothing to be proud of."

Shawn P. Roarke, NHL.com, from live blog:

Boston made it to the finish line, but they were staggering when they got there, winning 6-5. (The Lightning) dominated (the) third period and Tim Thomas had to be stellar to keep them from tying game.

Barbara Matson, Boston.com live blog:

It was Tyler Seguin's party and the rest of us were just crashing it. It got a little wild, but that's what happens with teenagers. The 19-year-old rookie scored two goals and had two assists. ... Tim Thomas made sure Seguin's party had a happy ending, making 36 saves, a handful in the final five minutes.

Craig MacTavish, TSN studio analyst:

(The Bruins) got to the Tampa Bay Lightning. I'm sure that (pulling goalie Dwayne Roloson from the game) was a mercy pull on behalf of Guy Boucher. Dwayne didn't have a lot of support in front of him. The best period that the Bruins had was the first period, where they also absolutely peppered Tampa (Bay), outplayed them tremendously and ended up being down in the period.

James Murphy, ESPN.com blogger

Defenseman Tomas Kaberle was under heavy scrutiny for his failure to help jump-start the power play and for having only three assists going into Game 2. But Tuesday night, Kaberle looked more like the puck-moving playmaker the Bruins thought they were getting when they acquired him from Toronto on Feb. 18. Kaberle helped set up two power-play goals and looked much more confident with the puck.

Barry Melrose, ESPN analyst:

This was a poorly played game. It was really exciting but both coaches are going to hate the tape when they see it.
