Chamberlain football duo headed to next level

Chamberlain QB Thaddeus Baxley, who totaled more than 900 yards as a Chiefs senior, has received an appointment to the U.S. Air Force Academy Preparatory School, Coach Joe Severino announced Thursday.

Additionally, LB/FB Reshay Hubbard, Chamberlain's top tackler in 2010, has signed with NAIA Webber International in eastern Polk County.

The prep school, according to its website, is designed to prepare young men and women -- academically, militarily and physically -- for the Academy. Successful completion of the prep school -- located in Colorado Springs, Colo. -- improves graduates' chances for an Academy appointment but doesn't guarantee admission.

Baxley passed for 602 yards and ran for another 300 last season, and qualified for the Class 4A, Region 2 track meet in three events. Hubbard collected 84 tackles, a sack and two pass deflections in 2010.
