GERSHWIN TO BERNSTEIN

Canadian pianist and actor Hershey Felder is portraying a pair of American musical icons at the Asolo Repertory Theatre. First, Felder performs George Gershwin Alone, his one-man show on the legendary composer of Rhapsody in Blue, Porgy and Bess and many Broadway musicals from the 1920s and '30s. Felder premiered the show in 2001 and has given more than 2,750 performances around the world. It runs through June 5. Then Felder will turn to a new solo piece, Maestro: The Art of Leonard Bernstein, which he will perform June 8 to 12 at the Sarasota theater. Music in the show ranges from Bernstein's Broadway musicals (West Side Story, On the Town, Candide) to Lamentations from his First Symphony. Tickets for each show are $17-$65.
