A student prank at Sunlake High School has forced the school to extend senior exams for one extra day this week.
David L. Riscile, a 20-year-old student at the school, was arrested Wednesday on allegations of arson for using an open flame to set off a fire alarm at the school, according to a Pasco County Sheriff's Office report. Sprinklers went off, filling one building with water and forcing a student evacuation during sixth-period testing.
Students who missed their exam due to the incident will have the option of making up the test, school officials said.
"We will be offering makeup exams from 8 a.m. to noon on Friday (today) for any senior that feels that they are on the cusp and it could help them positively," assistant principal Shawn Hohenthaner said. "Any other students will be exempt."
