Spinnations will host in-line championships this weekend for more than 200 racers.

The Southern Region In-Line Speed Skating Championships return this weekend to Spinnations Skating Center for the seventh consecutive year. More than 200 skaters will compete in 180 races during the two-day event, with the opportunity to qualify for the 2011 National Championships on the line.

Races begin at 8 a.m. Saturday and will run throughout the day. On Sunday, races begin at 7 a.m. and will conclude at 3 p.m. Doors will be open to the public on both days for a $5 admission price. For information, visit or call Angie at (727) 207-4071.

BASEBALL: Pasco-Hernando Community College baseball coach Steve Winterling and his staff will hold a baseball camp for kids ages 7-13 from June 6-8. Camp participants will be grouped by age and ability. The cost is $75, which includes a camp T-shirt. Each camp session will run from 8:30 a.m. to noon on the west campus of PHCC in New Port Richey where the baseball field is located. SPEED: Speed, strength and agility coach Johnny Walters will hold his performance enhancement summer camp from June 13-29 on Monday, Wednesday and Friday of each week. The camp will be held on the Mitchell High School track from 9 to 10:30 a.m. and is for kids ages 10 and up. The cost is $200 and includes speed, jump and agility training as well as conditioning. SUMMER CAMP: The True Life Center is providing a free week-long sports camp from June 20-24 to help disadvantaged children in the community with instruction and training in several different sports. The camp will present a message of leadership while emphasizing knowing their role within a team. The camp is open to children in grades 1-5 who qualify based on financial need and scholarship availability. A child can be sponsored for $125 for the week. BASKETBALL: The 2011 "No Nonsense" Ridgewood High School Basketball Camp will be held from June 13-16 at the school. The camp is open to boys and girls ages 8-15. The age 8-11 session will be held from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. and the age 12-15 session will be from noon to 3 p.m. The camp will consist of basketball fundamental stations, contests and games. GOLF: The Gulf High Athletic Department is holding its 15th annual Golf Scramble at 1 p.m. June 5 at Fox Hollow Golf Club. The cost is $85 per player, which includes golf, cart, team and door prizes, and dinner after golf at Windows on the Green. Hole sponsors are also available for $100.
