College opportunities at Wesley Chapel football

Wesley Chapel's 5-5 record hasn't deterred colleges from looking at their talent.

Fourteen Wildcats have chances to play in college, coach Ben Alford said. Some have offers for partial scholarships, such as reduced tuition or free books, while others are junior college invitations that don't have financial incentives. None have committed, and some might not pursue college football.

Here's the list of Wesley Chapel players who have been offered a spot on college rosters:

QB Keegan Tanner: Stetson University, Wagner College, Missouri Valley

ATH Xavier Leatherbury: Stetson University

LB Angel Ramos: Mayville State, Missouri Valley

LB Austin Fee: Mayville State

RB Devin Piper: Erie Community College

LB Luke Fisher: Missouri Valley, Wagner College

DB/WR Chris Mattear: Visiting FCS (formerly Division I-AA) program St. Francis this week. Also has interest from FCS teams Indiana State and Central Connecticut.

DL/OL Damian Garvey: Highland Community College, Iowa Central Community College, Erie Community College, Rockridge Community College

DL/OL Robert Gonzales: Rockridge Community College, Erie Community College

DE Angel LoCicero: Erie Community College

DL/OL Matthew Sabalaske: Vermillion Community College

DE/FB Brendon Edmonds: Vermillion Community College

DL/OL Louis Luna: Vermillion Community College

WR Robert Jota: Iowa Western Community College, Vermillion Community College
