Simon Cowell working on a DJ competition show

Published Jan. 26, 2012

Not content to be responsible for a quarter of all reality shows on primetime these days, Simon Cowell has announced he's starting a new talent show to find the world's best DJs. Great, more work for Jersey Shore's Paul DelVecchio.

"DJ's are the new rock stars, it feels like the right time to make this show," Cowell said in a statement to Reuters about the as-yet-unnamed show. Cowell's Sony Music production SYCO and Will Smith's Overbrook Entertainment will make the show. Oh goodie, DJ Jazzy Jeff will be back on TV (totally speculating here).

If they really want to make the ultimate reality music competition, they'd combine this with American Idol and one of those dance shows, so that the whole venture crowns three champs at once. They could call it Simon Cowell's Super Fabulous Music Hour and show it nine times a day. That buys a lot of Bugattis.
