Bulls hope to avoid stumble at home vs. Friars

It is a novel thought for USF basketball fans this time of year, the idea that the Bulls could be in a position to stumble halfway through the Big East season.

USF plays host to a Providence team that shares its 12-9 overall record, but the Friars are just 1-7 in conference, while USF is off to a 5-3 start. The only time the Bulls have finished with more conference wins was 2009-10, when USF got a pair of close wins against Providence on the way to a 9-9 conference record and a spot in the Postseason NIT.

Playing the Friars twice in the next two weeks, USF has a chance to move closer to another rare postseason appearance if they can pull off wins the same way. We'll live blog from the Tampa Bay Times Forum throughout today's game, which tips off at 2 ...
