Armwood leading tackler Keionne Baines and third-leading rusher Wade Edwards have committed to Akron, Hawks coach Sean Callahan confirmed today.
Their commitments mean Armwood likely will have 10 Division I signees on Wednesday, most for one National Signing Day in program history.
Baines (5-foot-11, 220 pounds), an East Bay transfer, had 148 tackles and four sacks at middle linebacker in the Hawks' 4-3 alignment. Edwards (5-10, 185), the primary tailback when University of Florida commitment Matt Jones was hurt early in the season, finished with 98 carries for 726 yards and 12 TDs.
Barring something unforeseen in the next 72 or so hours, Callahan may be forced to stage his largest signing ceremony ever on Lyle Flagg Field. Here are the Hawks' commitments as it stands:
MLB Keionne Baines (Akron)
DT Allen Covington (Toledo)
C Cameron Dees (Marshall)
RB Wade Edwards (Akron)

DE Shelldon Lewinson (Wake Forest)
DB Jarvis McCall (USF)
