BAKER, Bliss A. 90, of Clearwater, went to be with the Lord on Jan. 20, 2012. He is survived by Helen, his wife of 69 years, their two sons: Larry and Dean; daughter-in-law, Janet; three grandchildren: Heather Calanni, Kristin Trefz, and Gregory Baker; five great- grandchildren: Ashley Crock, Samantha Trefz, Aaron Trefz, Nicolas Calanni and A.J. Calanni. Bliss honorably served his country for four years in the Army during WWII and had a successful 36 year career with General Motors as a supervisor in the Material Department of the GM Bristol Road Stamping Plant in Flint MI. After their retirement, Bliss and Helen enjoyed many years as snowbirds between Michigan and Florida before moving permanently to Clearwater, in 2005. CALDERON, Olga Esther 67, of Brandon, passed away on Friday, Jan. 27. Born in Santruce, Puerto Rico Mrs. Calderon had been a local resident for 35 years. She was a member at Nativity Catholic Church and enjoyed her grandchildren and traveling. CHASE, Frederick Jr. 80, died on Jan. 3, 2012 in Waukegan, IL. He was the son of Virginia Gerould and Frederick Chase II. He attended Clearwater High School and Phillips Exeter Academy. He graduated from Dartmouth College, followed by service in the U.S. Marine Corps. He graduated from the U.F. law school, then practiced law for 37 years in New Port Richey, where he was a charter member of the Rotary Club. Fred was predeceased by one son, Nathan Chase. CLEVENGER, Dorine Vawter 97, of Valrico, passed quietly Jan. 10, 2012. Born Aug. 17, 1914 to Theodore and Georgie Lorene Vawter in Mayotown, TX, she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Willie and daughter, Sylvia Crispin. Dorine is survived by her son, LTC (USAR, Ret.) Gary Clevenger; and son-in-law, Andre A. Crispin. A seamstress by vocation, she worked during World War II at Ellington Field's Hospital near Houston, where she lived her adult life, until moving to Florida in 1989. "Pushaverance" was the word Dorine coined for dogged determination under difficult conditions which she overcame throughout her long life from the cotton fields of East Texas to her flower beds at her Valrico home. PERRY, Irene Shull was born in Indianapolis on May 20, 1922, and died Jan. 18, 2012, in Lake City. Irene graduated from Arsenal Technical High School and was a long time employee of the Personnel Department, and a retiree of The Indianapolis Star/News, who resided in Largo, from 1993-2010. Tony loved to be on the water, he enjoyed going on cruises ships and his own private boat. He was a proud Italian American and the love he had for his family was his passion. She was a member of St. Clement Catholic Church in Plant City, where she enjoyed supplying the strawberries through M&M St. Martin Farms for the church's annual strawberry shortcake booth at the Strawberry Festival. She is survived by her husband of 37 years Mike St. Martin; sons Michael St. Martin, Jr. (Brittany) and Matthew John St. Martin; grandson Michael St. Martin, III.; mother-in-law Irene St. Martin; sibling-in-laws Carolyn Peace (Kenny) Charles St. Martin (Kathy), and John St. Martin; nephew/God-son Anthony Peace; nieces Stephanie Bikowski, Jennifer Morgan, Crystal Mobley, and Daniel St. Martin; Aunt Gloria Knowles (Fred); best girlfriends Judy, Kim, and Tina; and many loving family and friends. WHITELAW, Albert D. "Scotty" 75 of New Port Richey, died Friday, Jan. 27, 2012. Born in Queens, NY, he moved here from Bayshore, NY in 2007. He was owner of Scotty's Bakery and Oven Equipment. He served in the US Navy from 1956-60. zur NIEDEN, Ludwig A. Jr. 79, Poughkeepsie, NY, passed away Thursday, Jan, 26th in Hyde Park, NY. Born 1932 in Philadelphia, son of Ludwig A. zur Nieden and Iona Agnes Egan. His education included Saint Joseph's University, and The Wharton School. Survived by his sister Susan Hartig; Lud's children, Louise McGarril, and Paul zur Nieden, both born to him and Constance R. Holbrook. Lud later married Margaret Rose in November 1999. In retirement, he split his time between Cape May, NJ and Oldsmar.
