To all the poor, faceless rabble actually excited Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels were both returning to make a sequel to Peter and Bobby Farrelly's Dumb and Dumber, bad news. Carrey has come to the conclusion that's not really the best idea, so he's not going to do it.
Entertainment Tonight says Jim was tired of dealing with New Line Cinema and Warner Bros., whom he decided weren't devoted enough to the project. He confirmed to ET he was off the project, giving the somewhat cryptic statement, "I would have thought Dumb and Dumber To was a no-brainer, after all it's implied in the title."
There's no telling what Jeff Daniels has to say about it, but he's busy making the HBO drama The Newsroom anyway, and Carrey has The Incredible Burt Wonderstone coming out next year. That's a winner of a title if we've ever heard one, ain't it?
