MONTESSORI EXPANDS TO WATERSET

Rohini Rustogi had been a school teacher and she didn't want to give that up.

But when she had children of her own, she wanted to spend time with them. So in 2000, she opened the Brandon Montessori School at River Hills. It allowed her to continue her career as an educator, spend the days with her preschool-age kids, and give her own children and many others a head start on their education.

Five years later, she opened her second school, the Riverview Montessori School at Rivercrest.

Now she's gearing up to open her third, the Apollo Beach Montessori School at Waterset. It's slated to open later this year, probably in early November.

"I really believe in the Montessori Method," Rustogi said. "I think it's the only way to learn, because it's hands-on."

The Montessori approach aims to build children into confident individuals who think creatively and emphasizes cooperation rather than competition.

The schools offer programs for children from 2 years old through kindergarten age, including a VPK program and summer camps. The Apollo Beach Montessori School will have space for about 80 students when it opens

Waterset is a new community that also, according to its website, will open this fall.

For up-to-date information, keep an eye on the schools' website, brandonmontessori.com, or call the Brandon Montessori School at (813) 655-9300 or the Riverview Montessori School at (813) 741-3300.

Real estate agent comes to Brandon: The name of the company is Price, Wright & Dunn, but the owner's name is Kerry Silva. No one named Price, Wright or Dunn has ever worked there.

Silva is a residential real estate agent and an expert witness appraiser.

That means he can testify in court cases, such as bankruptcies and divorces, in which determining the correct value of a home is critical.

He has been in business for more than a decade in Carrollwood but recently moved his operation to Brandon.

Because he's an expert witness appraiser, he said, when he's acting as a real estate agent he has the tools and the knowledge to set the price at the right point where it will sell quickly and get a good deal for the seller.

"To be a successful real estate agent, there are really only about three things you have to do right," Silva said. "The most important of the three to do right is to price the home."

Because he emphasizes setting the right price, he said, his sales success record is about 40 percent higher than the industry average.

The name of the company is a bit of a pun that emphasizes philosophy. "Price, Wright & Dunn" means that if you price your home right, you're done.

For information, visit the company's website, priceright.biz, or call (813) 436-0744.
