DEATHS IN AFGHANISTAN

As of Saturday, 1,886 U.S. troops have died in the war in Afghanistan. Identifications as reported by the U.S. military and not previously published:

- Army Sgt. Nicholas C. Fredsti, 30, San Diego; small-arms fire June 15; Spedar.

- Army Pfc. Jarrod A. Lallier, 20, Spokane, Wash.; small-arms fire Monday; Kandahar province.

- Army Sgt. Joseph M. Lilly, 25, Flint, Mich.; explosion June 12; Kandahar province.

- Army Spc. John D. Meador II, 36, Columbia, S.C.; small-arms fire and an explosion Wednesday; Khowst province.

- Army Spc. Trevor A. Pinnick, 20, Lawrenceville, Ill.; explosion June 12; Kandahar province.

- Army 1st Lt. Ryan D. Rawl, 30, Lexington, S.C.; small-arms fire and an explosion Wednesday; Khowst province.

- Army Sgt. 1st Class Matthew B. Thomas, 30, Travelers Rest, S.C.; small-arms fire and an explosion Wednesday; Khowst province.
