SLOW DOWN, SOME KIDS ARE STILL AT SCHOOL

It may be summer, but those flashing yellow school zone signs aren't a mirage or a mistake. Hundreds of kids are attending summer programs at various Pasco County School District campuses on Mondays through Thursdays, so some school zones are still active. Drivers are required by law to slow down to the posted speed when the yellow lights are flashing. And remember, speeding fines are doubled in school zones.

LAND O'LAKES

District 17 forum is Wednesday

The Republican Club of Central Pasco will have a candidate forum at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Copperstone Executive Suites, 3632 Land O'Lakes Blvd. Participants will include State Rep. John Legg, crisis management consultant John Korsak and former state representative and engineer Rob Wallace, all candidates for the District 17 state Senate seat.
