Extended flooding has led to an evacuation order for sections of southwest Pasco County. As a result, several schools will be closed on Wednesday. They are:
Richey, Cotee River, Deer Park, James Marlowe, Mittye P. Locke, Anclote, Seven Springs, Longleaf, Trinity, Trinity Oaks, Sunray, Gulf Trace, and Gulfside elementary schools; Gulf, Paul R. Smith and Seven Springs middle schools; Gulf, Anclote and J.W. Mitchell high schools; and Harry Schwettman Education Center.
Parents with children in the district's PLACE program can bring them to these elementary schools instead: Schrader, Moon Lake, Northwest, Mary Giella, Hudson or Gulf Highlands.
The district's PEACE environmental camp also will be cancelled on Wednesday. All other Pasco schools will remain open, unless the emergency order changes.
