ELLIS, Robert Misner Lt. Col. (Ret.), 90, of Valrico passed away on Wednesday, June 20, 2012. The son of Clayton Ellis and Geraldine Misner, Bob lived most of his life in Springville, NY. During WWII, he served as a B-17 pilot, completing 38 successful missions before rotating back to the U.S. to transition into B-29's. A successful Real Estate Broker for some 60 years, Bob stayed in the USAF Reserve, where he attained the rank of Lt. Col., before retiring in 1984. He was predeceased by his wife, Virginia, in 2001 and is survived by sons, Robert C. (Sylvia) of Valrico, Richard J. (Carol) of Winter Park; and sister, Sally Dwyer of Victor, New York. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Robert J. (Tricia), Richard C., Stephen L., Katherine V.; and two great-grandchildren, Jack Robert and Anna Claire. Bob was active in Republican politics, President of the NYS Route 219 Association where he was instrumental in having U.S. Route 219 approved to be built between Buffalo and Washington, D.C. He was an avid golfer, a Rotarian and a member of the V.F.W. and the American Legion. But, most of all, he was a good husband, father and a friend that you could count on. He will be missed. Services will be held on Friday, June 29 at 11 am at the Regent at 6734 Watson Rd., Riverview, FL 33578. KIRSCHNER, Elmer E. 84, of Treasure Island, passed away June 23, 2012. Elmer was born in Butler County, PA on April 21, 1928 to Samuel & Marie Kahler Kirschner. He lived in Tarentum, PA until moving to Treasure Island in 1999. Elmer graduated in 1946 from St. Petersburg High School and later from the Univ. of Pittsburgh with multiple degrees in Industrial Engineering. He retired from Westinghouse Electric Corp., Trafford, PA. Elmer was a member of Paradise Lutheran Church in Treasure Island, the American Legion, and the Society of Professional Engineers. He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Joan; brother, Donald Kirschner of Largo; sister-in-law, Diane Kirschner of Seminole; two nieces; one nephew; and many cousins. MINSTERL, Mary Ann (Brafford) died June 21, 2012 in Tampa. She was born August 18, 1947 in Shelbyville, IN to Jack and Betty Brafford. She grew up in Bloomington, IN, graduated from Westport High School in Louisville and attended Indiana University. She was a member of Civil Air Patrol for 45 years. She took her pilot's training with CAP and participated in search and rescue missions in Virginia after Hurricane Camille. She spent 22 years as an Air Force wife. She consistently won recognition and awards for service to the American Red Cross as Chairman of Volunteers at the MacDill Station, and later to the Family Support Center at MacDill Air Force Base. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, James R. Minsterl, Tampa; mother, Betty S. Brafford; sister, Dorothy Shaw-McIntyre (Mel) of Louisville; nieces, Kimberly Shaw Peters (Kyle) of Tucson AZ, and Cynthia Shaw of Louisville. Memorial service will be held at Middletown United Methodist Church 11 am Friday, June 29. Visitation will be at the church from 10 am until time of service. NELSON, Evelyn Marie Stephan, 79, of Lakeland, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 24, 2012. She was born on Jan. 19, 1933 in Olean, NY to Clair and Hilda Osgood. Evelyn was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Brandon and attended Crestview Baptist Church in Lakeland for the past several years. She enjoyed shopping and taking care of children. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 40 years, Donald Stephan, as well as her second husband of 5 years, Len Nelson.
