BOXER'S EX-HUSBAND GETS 25 YEARS

Former boxer Christy Martin's ex-husband was sentenced in Orlando to 25 years in prison for trying to kill her. James Martin was convicted of attempted second-degree murder with a firearm and two other counts. He stabbed his wife in the chest, sliced her in the leg and shot her in the back in their home in 2010 after she told him she was leaving for another woman.

Knicks' Stoudemire fined for gay slur

Knicks forward Amare Stoudemire was fined $50,000 by the NBA after tweeting a gay slur to a fan. Stoudemire apologized to the fan, who had admonished the All-Star to "make up for this past season." The fan, (at)BFerrelli, posted a screen shot of the message containing an expletive and the slur.
