Police on Tuesday released a surveillance video of a home invasion robbery from earlier this month, hoping to stir up more clues about a fatal home invasion last week.
The two incidents have similarities, authorities said, and may be the work of the same suspects.
The earlier home invasion, at about 4 a.m. June 5, involved three masked men who kicked down a door at 3614 Fifth Ave. S and held Ernest Rayfield Wright, 77, and his girlfriend, Barbara Simpson, at gunpoint while they ransacked the home. They took electronics and other items.
On June 19, police got a call at about 4:45 a.m. about a group of four masked men who kicked down a door at 7014 Orpine Drive N. The men yelled "Police! Police! Police!" and demanded drugs and cash.
Homeowner Richard Lamar Shaw, 41, and his adult son were inside the Meadowlawn home. Shaw, whose wife had just died from cancer a week earlier, was shot and killed.
Police released video from last week's incident as well, but have not made any arrests.
