Chiefs to sign with Rattlers, Crimson

Chamberlain seniors Amber Fullwood and Lindsey Hagberg, who helped guide the Chiefs to the Class 7A state softball title last season, will sign today with Florida A&M and Harvard, respectively.

Harvard doesn't award athletic scholarships, but Hagberg, who owns a 5.98 weighted GPA (3.94 nonweighted) has been invited to join the Crimson's softball program.

A power-hitting catcher, Hagberg hit .542 with two home runs, 12 doubles and 37 RBIs for the Chiefs (27-7), who staged rallies in the 7A semifinal and title game. She went 2-for-4 in the final, collecting a double and four RBIs.

Fullwood, the Chiefs' full-time starter earlier in her career, went 5-3 with a 2.79 ERA in nearly 38 innings as a junior, and collected a .326 batting average. She relieved starter Rachel Dwyer in the state semifinals and final, earning victories in both contests.
