The Juice* loves us some video games (and not just the Lana Del Rey kind), so we're all kinds of happy to hear The Dark Knight Rises star Tom Hardy has signed on to star in a movie based on Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell series. Sure, Michael Ironside did a lot of the voice work, but he's too old to play Sam Fisher onscreen. Eric Warren Singer, who wrote The International, will work on a script for French gaming company Ubisoft, Deadline.com reports. Paramount and Warner Bros. are rumored to be interested in the franchise, which is sort of a realistic Mission: Impossible without Tom Cruise. Hardy is poised to be the next big action star with this role. Wait, did we say next? With Warrior, Inception and Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy already under his belt along with Dark Knight's Bane, he's already there. And Mad Max: Fury Road isn't even out yet.

Don't mess with De Niro
Jay-Z has been bumped down a few notches on the Cool Guy Meter, because Vito Corleone himself Robert De Niro called the rapper disrespectful. At Leonardo DiCaprio's birthday party, no less! Brooklyn Nets stock just plummeted. The New York Post's Page Six says De Niro took Shawn Carter to task at a room full of A-listers including Martin Scorsese, Cameron Diaz, Jamie Foxx, Chris Rock, Jonah Hill, Edward Norton, Mark Ruffalo and Emma Watson, because the actor said the rapper never returned De Niro's phone calls. Even Beyonce couldn't smooth over the row. "Bob was sitting at a table, and when Jay-Z went over to say hello, De Niro told Jay that he never called him back," a source told the paper. Apparently De Niro had tried to reach Jay-Z to discuss recording a song for the Tribeca Film Festival, but Carter gave him the silent treatment. "Bob wasn't in any mood to make polite conversation. He told Jay that if somebody calls you six times, you call them back. It doesn't matter who you are, that is just rude. De Niro kept telling him that he thinks he's the man, but that he was disrespectful." Jay-Z tried to joke and say he's bad on the telephone, but the Raging Bull star wasn't hearing it. "It was the talk of the party. Everyone was saying there's only one star in New York bigger and badder than Jay-Z, and that's Robert De Niro. He can be quite scary when he's angry." Well, other sources say it was a pretty "low-key private conversation," but something tells us De Niro can be even more frightening when he's using hushed tones.

LiLo has a half-sis
Today's tangential Lindsay Lohan item doesn't really involve her at all, but she did just find out she has an illegitimate half-sister out there somewhere. The lack of surprise on your face is deafening. Michael Lohan went on Trisha Goddard's TV show to take a paternity test to see if he was the father of a 17-year-old by a woman named Kristi Horn, TMZ said. The results came back and lo and behold, teen Ashley really is his kid. She started shouting "No! No! No!" when Michael tried to hug her on the Thursday episode, so we don't think things are going well. How would you feel if you just found out you were a Lohan, anyway? Now let's do the math: Michael's two youngest children with Dina Lohan are Ali, who was born in 1993, and Cody, who was born in 1996. Ashley came along in 1995, so it doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize this is just one more reason why Dina divorced him. She just may not have known it until now.

Comedian Katt Williams charged with assault
Comedian Katt Williams was arrested for allegedly hitting a man on the head with a bottle in Oakland, Calif., and sending him to the hospital, earning Williams a charge of assault with a deadly weapon. This is after he was sued this month by a former assistant for allegedly causing permanent injuries and got into a shoving match with a heckler, too. Oakland Police said the 41-year-old was arrested after an 18-year-old Berkely man was hit in the head inside a tour vehicle parked at a Courtyard Marriott, the Oakland Tribune reports. Williams, who was found at a nightclub two blocks away but cooperated with police, wasn't booked into jail on the charge for which he was arrested, assault with a deadly weapon. That must have been some bottle.
