Soul singer John Legend, football personality Herm Edwards and ice cream icon Jerry Greenfield (of Ben and Jerry's fame)round out the second half of the University of South Florida's University Lecture Series lineup, announced at Thursday's Jeff Corwin lecture. Legend, who will take the podium on April 9, canceled an October show at Ruth Eckerd Hall but promised a return in spring 2013, so maybe this is his makeup? We still await concert news, Mr. Legend. The singer's talk will be on education, which has been one of his passions since he recorded Shine for documentary Waiting for Superman's soundtrack. Edwards, who formerly coached the New York Jets and Kansas City Chiefs, will speak five days before Martin Luther King Day on Jan. 16 about the legacy of King. Previous USF speaker Jerry Greenfield, one of the Ben and Jerry's co-founders,returns on March 4 to speak about entrepreneurship and sustainability in business. All lectures are free and open to the public 15 minutes prior to the show, after students are seated. See uls.usf.edu for info.
