RUNNERS TO RULE ROADS ON SUNDAY

Roughly 4,500 runners will descend upon downtown St. Petersburg on Sunday morning for the Lady Speed Stick Women's Half Marathon St. Pete.

The event, which also includes a 5K, will begin at 7 a.m. and force the closure of several streets, mostly downtown. The race will start at Albert Whitted Airport, winding north along the waterfront to Snell Isle and 34th Avenue NE before coming back downtown along Coffee Pot Bayou, then heading to and around Tropicana Field via First Avenue S and ending back at the airport.

The event is being put on by the Competitor Group, organizers of the Rock 'n' Roll St. Pete Half Marathon.
