HAWKS TOPPLE SLUMPING MAGIC

Times wires

ATLANTA - Al Horford, overcoming first-half tiredness caused by the flu, scored 15 and Lou Williams added 14 to lead the Hawks past the Magic 82-72 on Monday night.

Zaza Pachulia had 10 rebounds in a reserve role for Atlanta, which has won two straight and three of four.

"I thought it was just me, but I was asking the guys and they were tired, too," Horford said. "And (Orlando) played a back-to-back game, and I think that made it uglier. Tell you what, I'll take the win."

Glen Davis was the only Magic player to score in double figures with 11. Orlando has lost two straight and seven of eight.

Orlando ended the first quarter with a rare lead. The Magic had trailed after the first 12 minutes in seven of its first nine games. But it was outscored 24-12 in the third and trailed by 14 entering the fourth.

Magic starting guards Jameer Nelson (cough) and J.J. Redick (flu) struggled. "I appreciate their efforts," coach Jacque Vaughn said. "They tried to play for their teammates."

AROUND THE LEAGUE:Cavaliers point guard Kyrie Irving will miss at least one month with a fractured left index finger. ... Grizzlies forward Zach Randolph was fined $25,000 by the NBA for confronting the Thunder's Kendrick Perkins after both were ejected last week. ... Spurs swingman Stephen Jackson is out four to six weeks after suffering a non-displaced fracture to his right pinkie. ... Timberwolves guard Brandon Roy, 28, will miss a month after arthroscopic surgery on his right knee, the three-time All-Star's seventh knee operation since high school.

d'antoni update: Mike D'Antoni will try again tonight to make his debut as Lakers coach when the Nets visit Staples Center (10:30, NBA Network). D'Antoni, who hobbled through practice Monday, said he's feeling better from knee surgery that postponed his planned debut Sunday but "I don't want to say yeah and then don't do it again. So we'll just see."
