UPDATE, 6:50: Escobar is not available at all tonight and likely won't play Friday but isn't expected to be out much longer. (See separate post.) ... Maddon said in choosing what two lefties to include in the lineup he thought Johnson was a better matchup against Sale than Joyce, and that Johnson could handle the defensive end, even with a fly ball pitcher like Hellickson on the mound.
UPDATE, 4:35: Escobar is not in the lineup, which means not only does Ben Zobrist have to play shortstop, but the Rays have to include two lefties in their lineup with Kelly Johnson in leftfield and Sam Fuld in right.
Here is the lineup:

DEVELOPING: Temperatures are expected to be in the high 40s tonight as the red-hot Rays try to take their run of success on the road as they open a 10-game trip against the White Sox in cool Chicago.
RHP Jeremy Hellickson, an Iowa native who is used to the cold, will be on the mound for the Rays as they face Lakeland/Florida Gulf Coast product LHP Chris Sale.
One major lineup question involves SS Yunel Escobar, who left Wednesday's game after six innings with tightness in his right hamstring. The cold weather is not going to help his hopes for a speedy return; in his absence Ben Zobrist is likely to play SS.
Sale can be tough, and the Rays know is as he struck out 15 of them in a game at the Trop last year.
Here is the White Sox lineup vs. Hellickson, with former Ray Jeff Keppinger hitting second and playing second:
