For starters: Rays at White Sox

UPDATE, 5:43: Former Rays INF Jeff Keppinger was in the White Sox lineup but scratched due to back tightness.

UPDATE, 5:30: CF Desmond Jennings is getting his first day off of the season, and SS Yunel Escobar remains sidelined with a tight right hamstring. Escobar, though, said he is feeling better and expects to be back in the lineup on Saturday. ... Also, Matt Joyce - hitting .185 overall and 1 of only four AL players without a hit with runners in scoring position (min. 10 at-bats) - will beat leadoff. Joyce batted leadoff twice previously, in 2011 games, and is 5-for-8 with homers in each game, though both were at home so this will be his first time as the first batter of the game. ... DH Luke Scott felt good enough to continue his rehab tonight and will play at DH again for Class A CHarlotte.

DEVELOPING: After an uninspired effort in Thursday's 5-2 loss to the White Sox, the Rays will try again tonight on the south side of Chicago with Roberto Hernandez on the mound.

Hernandez is coming off a solid outing against Oakland, his first win since Sept. 20, 2011, a span of 579 days, though only seven starts.

The Sox are starting veteran RHP Jake Peavy, who is 2-1, 5.25 in four starts.

Rays SS Yunel Escobar is expected to be out of the lineup for a second straight night, sidelined due to tightness in his right hamstring.

Lineups shortly.
