FRENCH, Deborah Albani of Pinellas Park, passed this life on April 22, 2013 to be reunited with her soul mate and love of her life, Ralph L. French Jr. She had a larger than life, vibrant personality, infectious laugh and impeccable style; she could light up any room. Her sense of humor was bold, sarcastic and over the top. She was inspiring, motivating and always reminded people "Life is good!" "Be Happy". She opened her heart and home and made people feel special. She loved entertaining, baking, cooking, crafting, Florida sunshine, QVC and Elvis. Her strong will and determination allowed her to excel in all aspects of her life. Born Oct. 27, 1956, a native of Connecticut, and CHS grad of Class of '75, went on to manage A-1 Catering and own and operate Debbie's Deli and Bake Shop in Connecticut before moving to Florida. Deborah's exuberant spirit will live on in the hearts of those who had the pleasure to know her. We find comfort knowing that she is radiating her love and sending red lipstick kisses to her parents Max and Florence Cohen; sister and best friend, Lisa; and brother-in-law, Clay Duclos; sister, Carol Ouellette; brother, Charles Rudnik. She was predeceased by her brother, Rev. John V. Albani. Deborah's nieces, Jessica and Jacqueline Duclos were her everything. No one could show more love and support to them than she did. HOGAN, Betty Weeks 85, went to be with the Lord April 25, 2013, of complications related to her heart condition. Her husband of 61 years, Fred Lanier, preceded her in death; as did her father, Oscar Weeks; mother, Mae; and sister, Estelle (Clarence) Smith. She is survived by her son, William Hart Hogan (Char); daughter, Rebecca Jane Coleman (Charlie); grandsons, Matthew Hart Hogan (Katie), Frederick Lanier Coleman; and three great- grandchildren. She is also survived by her two sisters, Barbara Donald and Jackie Blount; as well as her brother, Oscar Weeks Jr. (Shirley); and many nieces & nephews. Born in Tampa and a lifelong resident, she graduated from Hillsborough High school. More than anything, she was the loving partner to Fred, who adored her and was the emotional center of the family. She was a gifted in so many ways. She was a seamstress and artist. Drawn into china painting by her mother, she became a master & taught china painting for a number of years. So many friends and family cherish the wonderful pieces she gave them. She loved music and the house was full of it all the time. She served in and ultimately headed Meals on Wheels in Brandon for over 25 years. She and Fred loved entertaining & hospitality, and were known for wonderful southern cooking, and in particular their champagne breakfasts held for many years on New Year's Day. She was a wonderful cook and she worked for weeks each year putting up fresh vegetables in the freezer that we would enjoy year round. She found great pleasure in introducing and delighting northern & even international guests with deep southern specialties of turnip and collard greens, okra, Crowder and black-eyed peas, her remarkable corn bread, grits and tomato gravy among others along with Fred's grilled specialties. Fred retired early and she and he had great time together. He was able to pursue his beloved golf & she largely pursued a life of service to her family, her church and the community through meals on wheels. She was the accountant, driver, social chairman and all around woman who served to Fred's mother, Fred's aunt & her own mother as their health declined. She and Fred loved to travel and they did so extensively around the world. They loved taking the family along and the memories of those travels together are some of the highlights of our family history. She was a longtime member of Westminster Presbyterian Church which she loved. Her faith and dependence in the grace of Christ was her confidence & the obvious center of every aspect of her life. IPPOLITO, Angelo D. 79, of Brandon, passed away on April 27, 2013. He is preceded in death by parents, Dominick & Josephine Ippolito; brother, Dr. Steven Ippolito. Survivors include his loving wife, Grace M. Ippolito; his sons, Manuel Ippolito (Carol), and Michael Ippolito (Donna); his brother, Charles Ippolito (Pearl); sister-in-law, Caren Ippolito; his grandson, Christopher Michael Ippolito; several nieces and nephews. He was a graduate of Hillsborough High School, received his Bachelor's degree from the University of Tampa, his Master's degree from the University of Mississippi, and did a fellowship at Bowdoin College. JOHNSON, Margaret R. of St. Petersburg, received the ultimate healing from Jesus Our Lord and Savior on April 27, 2013 at Kindred Hospital. She was born Margaret Ruth Brown on Dec. 29, 1926 to Mary and Charles Brown in Corydon, IN. She married Noble M. Johnson on July 13, 1946. She and Noble retired to their beloved La Feria, TX in 1978 where she lived until 2012. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 14 in St. Petersburg and attended First Baptist Church of St. Petersburg. She was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Noble. Survivors include daughters, Terrie Pickett (Wayne) St. Petersburg, Myra Smith (Gary) Georgetown, IN; and two grandchildren, Kayla Lee (Daniel) New Albany, IN and Gary M. Smith, Charlestown, IN. JOHNSON, Mark Allen 45, went to his heavenly home Tuesday, April 23, 2013. He leaves behind his two sons, Caleb Johnson and Ethan Johnson, his life partner of 20 years Annette Montford, her daughter Carolynn Montford and her son Darrel Montford whom he help raise. Ricardo was an auxiliary police captain in New York. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. KOSTER, David M. Jr. 79, Palm Harbor, went to be with the Lord to sing with Angels April 26, 2013. He was born in Brooklyn, NY, and was a United States Marines Veteran, having served in the Korean Conflict. He was a retired New York City Police Officer, having dedicated over twenty years to the force. From there, he moved on to Florida where he devoted his next twenty years to the U.S. Postal Service, where he was a Mail Carrier. Locally, he was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church of Clearwater & the 10-13 Club, a fraternal organization of New York City Retired Police Officers. He leaves behind his wife of 57 years, Bernadette; his three children, Loretta, Dale and Andrew; and two grandchildren. MOORE, Howard C. Jr. (known to his family & friends as Butch), 68, of Brandon, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 23, 2013. He was born on Aug. 9, 1944 in Washington, D.C. to the late Howard Sr. and Maria. Howard was predeceased by his devoted wife, Wanda. Howard was in the United States Air Force and ended his Air Force career as a Senior Master Sergeant E8. After the Air Force, Howard worked at NOAA as a Flight Engineer / Hurricane Hunter for the Hurricane Center. Survivors include his daughters, Stacy Allison and Melissa Moore; sons, Bryan Moore (Rachel) & Christopher Scholen; sisters, Joyce O'Donnell and Jean M. Vidotto; 7 grandchildren, Katelynn Allison, Daisy McKamey and John Earnest, Chelsea Dietrich (Charles), Cody Moore, Hunter Moore, and Haden Moore; great-grandson, Michael McKamey. When Howard wasn't working he spent time working in his yard, barbequing, and spending time with his family. Howard was a devoted father who spent his whole life making sure his family was taken care of to the day he passed away. PETERSON, Col. Thorwald Roger, U.S. Army (Ret.), 82, passed away April 27, 2013 in Clearwater, surrounded by his family: his wife, Elizabeth and his four daughters, Laura (Joe), Janet, Diane and Katherine. His death was a result of an enlarged heart, pneumonia, and a gall bladder infection. An officer and a gentleman, Roger graduated into the Corps of Engineers from West Point in 1953. He served as a Company Commander in Korea along the DMZ in 1954, and as Division Engineer of the 1st Infantry Division in Vietnam during Tet in 1968, where he received several medals for valor. After serving as U.S. Army District Engineer in St. Louis, MO from 1973-76, he returned to St. Louis in 1979. He joined Booker Associates: Engineers, Architects and Planners, where he rose to become President and CEO. He was active in many civic organizations. His Funeral Service will be at the Episcopal Church of the Ascension in Clearwater on Wednesday, May 1 at 2 pm. His interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, D.C. SPEAIRS, Anse H. "Ed" (Colonel, U.S. Army - Retired) age 95, of Seminole, passed away April 25, 2013, a patriot & warrior to the end. He is survived by his sons, Thomas and Steven; granddaughter, Kelly; three great-grandchildren. He was married to Virginia Howell of Wilmington, DE, for 60 years before she passed in 2006. Ed was born in Durant, OK, and lived in Oklahoma City from 1920 to 1940, joining the Oklahoma National Guard as a private in 1938. His 45th Infantry Division was mobilized in September 1940. He received a direct commission as 2LT in Infantry just before Pearl Harbor and was assigned to the 157th Infantry Regiment, which made amphibious landings in Sicily in July 1943, Salerno in September, Anzio in January 1944 and southern France in August 1944. The unit liberated the infamous Dachau concentration camp just before the war ended in May 1945. The 45th was mobilized again in September 1950 and he commanded a battalion of the 179th Infantry Regiment in Korea. After assignments in Japan, Texas, Venezuela and Chicago, he served a year as an advisor to the South Vietnamese Army then served as the Inspector General at Ft. Dix, NJ. His military honors include 2 CIBs, the Silver Star, Legion of Merit, 2 Bronze Stars and 4 Purple Hearts. He retired in 1965 to enjoy a lifelong love of fishing, first in Beaufort, SC, then Florida from 1993 on. A memorial service will be held at Lake Seminole Square on Thursday, May 2nd, 10:30 am. Burial will be at Beaufort National Cemetery.
