Two seventh-graders accused of acid bombing
Two seventh-grade students at Dowdell Middle Magnet School set off an acid bomb Tuesday morning on school grounds, Hillsborough County deputies said.
Deputies arrested the two boys, ages 13 and 15, on charges of possession and discharge of a weapon on school property and disruption of a school function, deputies said.
Shortly after 9 a.m., a small explosion took place on a walkway between two of the school's buildings, deputies said. Though students were changing classes, no one was hurt. There was no property damage, deputies said.
Officials placed the school, at 1208 Wishing Well Way in Palm River, on lockdown while they investigated the incident.
